Nigel Farage Wins Clacton By-Election in England

Based on the results released on Friday, Nigel Farage, leader of the far-right Reform UK party, emerged victorious in the by-election held in Clacton, located in southeast England. The election took place amidst a boycott by major parties in the region, with Farage defeating his opponent, a comedian who wore a bin-like costume and referred to himself as ‘Count Binface’.

Election officials confirmed that the 62-year-old Farage garnered 22,239 votes, significantly outnumbering his rival, who received 9,455 votes. Farage himself was instrumental in initiating this election, having called for a fresh vote after resigning his Clacton constituency seat. The election proceeded without the participation of the United Kingdom’s main political parties, who had opted to boycott the proceedings.
