Israel Intensifies Air and Ground Operations in Southern Syria
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Syrian sources have reported a surge in Israeli aerial and ground activity across southern Syria, with particular attention focused on the Daraa and Quneitra regions. The escalation coincides with reports of drone and fighter jet flights over the affected areas, coupled with continued military operations by the Israeli regime.
Syrian sources indicated that in addition to ground maneuvers, three drones and several fighter jets were observed flying in the airspace, while Israeli military activities persist in the outskirts of Daraa and Quneitra. In a recent development, Israeli forces launched a pre-dawn operation involving a military convoy of 12 vehicles stationed on a bridge near the village of Saysoon in western Daraa. They conducted house-to-house searches in the village, with three Israeli drones simultaneously patrolling the area.
Similar military movements were witnessed in the Quneitra and Daraa countrysides the previous night, with Israeli fighter jets seen flying over the Yarmouk Basin area in western Daraa. According to published information, an Israeli patrol comprising two military vehicles entered the forests of the town of Al-Rafid, in the southern Quneitra countryside, and fired flares, which ignited a fire in the region. After the patrol withdrew, civil defense forces and local residents intervened and contained the fire before it could spread to larger areas.
Meanwhile, another military convoy of eight military vehicles entered the village of Jammah in the Yarmouk Basin area via the Tal Abu Al-Ghaythar crossing. This operation was also accompanied by dense flights of Israeli drones over the region.
