According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, citing Russia’s TASS news agency via Iran’s Mehr News Agency, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un referenced the contributions of Soviet Red Army soldiers during North Korea’s liberation from Japanese occupation. This acknowledgment was made in response to a congratulatory message sent by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of North Korea’s liberation.
Kim Jong Un stated that the historic milestone of the Korean people’s liberation serves as a reminder of the valiant efforts of Red Army soldiers who bravely fought against common adversaries. He conveyed his pride in the North Korea-Russia relationship, emphasizing that it upholds a legacy of joint struggles for justice and valuable traditions of friendship, thereby laying a strong foundation for a brighter future in bilateral ties.
The North Korean leader expressed confidence that under President Putin’s leadership, the Russian military and its people will successfully defend their nation’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, ultimately building a stronger Russia.
