Hamas Agrees to Second Phase of Trump’s Gaza Roadmap

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has announced its agreement to the second phase of a proposed roadmap presented by U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration, aiming for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) stated that its delegation, led by Khalil al-Hayya, met with mediating and guaranteeing parties for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in Egypt.

Hamas emphasized in a statement, “We affirm our agreement to the second phase roadmap of the proposed plan by President Trump, presented by Nikolay Mladenov, the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process.”

The movement added that this agreement was made to safeguard the interests of the Palestinian people and with the approach of striving for a permanent ceasefire.

Hamas also stressed that its primary priority in this path is to guarantee the complete withdrawal of Zionist soldiers from the Gaza Strip.

The statement further noted that Hamas and the resistance were committed to the full implementation of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement reached in Sharm El Sheikh. However, it alleged that the occupying regime did not adhere to the agreement and instead moved towards military escalation on the ground and deepening the humanitarian catastrophe.
