Trump Reiterates Stance Against Iran’s Nuclear Program, Cites Strait of Hormuz

U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated his opposition to Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, stating that the United States cannot allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons. He also highlighted the critical role of the Strait of Hormuz for global oil transit.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday repeated his assertion that Iran must not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons, making no reference to the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program. Trump made these remarks while visiting construction projects at the White House.

The U.S. President, who is under intense pressure from political and media circles due to the repercussions of his costly military actions, claimed, in an effort to calm the tense domestic atmosphere: “Many ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz, which we have complete control over, and a massive volume of oil passes through it!”

Ignoring that North Korea had hours earlier expressed ignorance of his previous claim about meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Donald Trump once again asserted: “I will meet with the leader of North Korea!”

In response to a reporter’s question about the White House ballroom project and the possibility of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling against it, he said: “I cannot imagine the Supreme Court ruling against us. We hope this does not happen. I cannot imagine such a thing happening.”
