Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan Returns to Adiala Jail After Medical Check-ups

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a senior Pakistani official announced on Friday that former Prime Minister Imran Khan was transferred back to jail after undergoing medical examinations at a health facility in Islamabad, the nation’s capital, in accordance with a court order. Anadolu Agency reported this information, citing Mehr News Agency.
Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Information Minister, stated that the prisoner, identified as Imran Khan, aged 73, was moved to a hospital under strict security measures during the night of August 20-21, 2026, based on a Supreme Court directive. While not directly naming Khan, Tarar’s statement clarified the situation.
In a statement posted on the American social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Tarar elaborated that a team of specialist doctors, including an ophthalmologist, a cardiologist, and a general physician, conducted thorough examinations and declared his physical condition to be suitable and healthy.
He also confirmed that Imran Khan’s sister, Uzma Khan, was present throughout the entire examination and treatment process.
The Pakistani minister further stated that after the complete conclusion of these procedures, Khan was returned to Adiala Jail around 5 AM local time on Friday.
