Egypt Erases Israel from Educational Maps, Israeli Media Reports

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli media has reported that Egypt has omitted Israel from educational maps. Channel 14 of the Israeli regime’s television, referencing a map published by the Egyptian media outlet Cairo24, stated, “Is another political crisis on the way? In Egypt, they removed Israel from the map.” The report, citing data from the Palestinian Information Center via the Mehr News Agency, highlighted the removal from a map related to the new secondary diploma system in Egypt. In this map, the name “Palestine” is inscribed in the northeast of the country, with no mention of “Israel.” The accompanying text for the map read, “Present in the pages of history; Palestine appears on Egypt’s political map in the new curriculum of the secondary diploma system.” Channel 14 of the Israeli regime’s television emphasized the significance of this map’s publication, given that Egypt has had diplomatic relations and a peace agreement with the regime since 1979. The channel added that this development should be a cause for concern for the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Israeli media outlet also called for a reaction from Tel Aviv, stressing that “Israel must clarify that such an action is unacceptable to it.”
