Israeli Drone Strike Targets Vehicle in Damascus Countryside

An Israeli drone strike on a vehicle in the Damascus countryside has wounded the driver, according to Syrian television reports. The attack occurred on the road between Beit Jinn farm and the town of Beit Jinn.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Syrian television reported that an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle on the road connecting Beit Jinn farm and the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside earlier today. The driver of the vehicle was injured in the attack and subsequently transferred to a local hospital.

Details regarding the identity of the individual targeted in the strike have not been released at this time. This incident occurs amidst daily incursions by Israeli forces into southern Syria, where they reportedly establish temporary checkpoints, inspect civilians and vehicles, raid homes, detain residents, and destroy land with bulldozers. They have also been observed installing military bases and surveillance cameras in several locations, with intermittent drone and artillery strikes on various areas.

Previously, sources indicated Damascus’s reluctance to confront Tel Aviv. According to these sources, Syria is cautiously managing Israeli actions, striving to avoid any escalation that could provide Israel with a pretext to expand its military operations within Syria. The sources further stated that Damascus believes Benjamin Netanyahu is attempting to draw Syria into a conflict it is unprepared for, as Syria lacks the necessary resources for a new war after years of conflict and destruction.

These sources also indicated that Damascus is closely monitoring developments and maintaining regular contact with the United States and France, conveying the evolving ground situation to these nations in an effort to de-escalate tensions.
