Spain Records Over 5,000 Heat-Related Deaths in Record Summer
Spain has recorded over 5,000 heat-related deaths between June and August, marking a new record since data collection began in 2015, according to newly released public health figures.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Spain has registered more than 5,000 heat-related fatalities from June to August, setting a new record since the commencement of such statistical tracking in 2015. The data was published by the Carlos III Health Institute, citing figures from Agence France-Presse.
The exceptional heatwave across Europe contributed to a total of 5,111 deaths attributed to high temperatures during this summer period. This figure surpasses the previous record of 4,652 deaths recorded during the same timeframe in 2022.
