Erdogan Reiterates Turkey’s Commitment to Azerbaijan-Armenia Peace Process

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated on Tuesday that his country will continue to support and play a role in the peace process between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Erdogan made these remarks during a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.
The statement indicated that Erdogan told Aliyev that peace between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia would serve as a vital artery for the region. Erdogan also stated that the importance of cooperation steps between Turkey and Azerbaijan, particularly in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and transportation, has become more evident than ever in the current regional circumstances.
According to the statement, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional and international issues of mutual interest. Erdogan also extended an invitation to Aliyev to attend the COP31 summit, scheduled to be held in Antalya from November 9 to 20.
