US Central Command Confirms Strikes Against Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday that its forces initiated attacks on targets associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran. CENTCOM stated via its social media platform X that the strikes commenced at 12:00 PM Eastern Time.

CENTCOM further alleged that these actions were a direct response to recent attempts by the IRGC to target commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and American military personnel stationed in the region. Axios reporter Barak Ravid also claimed, citing U.S. officials, that the U.S. Air Force was attacking Iranian targets in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz.

This development follows two prior U.S. incursions into Iranian territory, referred to as the “12-day war” and the “Ramadan war.” These past events, which reportedly contravened international law, took place during indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington, leading to the assertion that the United States was not genuinely pursuing dialogue.
