IAEA Chief Alleges Undisclosed Construction at Iranian Nuclear Site

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has asserted that the agency has detected construction and movement at the Koh-e-Kalang site, located near Iran’s Natanz nuclear facilities. Grossi’s claims, made in an interview with Bloomberg and aligning with hostile Western positions, are reportedly based on unconfirmed information.

Grossi emphasized that despite observing these activities, IAEA inspectors have not yet been granted access inside the tunnel complex and lack specific information regarding any potential work being conducted there. These statements come in the wake of the IAEA Board of Governors referring Iran’s nuclear file to the UN Security Council, citing alleged non-compliance with nuclear obligations.

In a diplomatic note distributed among various nations this week, Iran cautioned Western countries against turning the IAEA into a tool for conflict. The representative of Iran to the IAEA referenced a precedent from June 2025, noting that Israel launched attacks against Iran just one day after the agency declared Iran in violation of its nuclear commitments.

The Iranian representative to the IAEA stated in an 11-page document that the aggressions by the Israeli regime and the United States against Iran, occurring mere hours after the [resolution] was adopted, provide clear evidence of the hidden objectives of its supporters. The note urged diplomats to condemn illegal attacks.
