Trump Denies Damage to US Military Aircraft at Jordanian Base

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday denied reports of damage to American warplanes during Iran’s attack on an air base in Jordan, continuing his stance of denying damage to U.S. bases and fighter jets. Trump responded to a question from a NewsNation reporter regarding the veracity of these reports by stating, “No. Not at all. No damage, nothing.” This statement contrasts with a report by CBS News, citing individuals with direct knowledge of the incident, which indicated that Iran’s attacks on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan early Tuesday to Wednesday had damaged several U.S. military aircraft. The report detailed that one A-10 Thunderbolt lost a wing, and approximately eight F-15s sustained minor damage. The attack was reportedly carried out in retaliation for U.S. strikes on five Iranian oil tankers, with Iranian forces firing ballistic missiles toward the American base. Trump also reiterated his claim that the war with Iran would be resolved immediately after the U.S. midterm elections in November, although in his latest remarks, he has also raised the possibility of the war ending before the elections. Regarding the resumption of negotiations with Iran, he claimed that Washington is not currently seeking talks. However, in contradictory statements, he did not entirely rule out the possibility of negotiations, adding, “A negotiation might happen, but it’s not something we are pursuing right now.”
