Trump Criticizes NATO, Europe Over Iran Stance; Claims U.S. Cleared Hormuz Mines
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump has strongly criticized NATO and European countries, stating their performance in the context of the conflict with Iran has been “very disappointing in many respects.” He further claimed that the United States has eliminated all naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
Speaking in Dublin on Saturday, Trump reiterated his stance on the conflict with Iran, criticizing Washington’s European allies for their lack of support for American aggressive actions. “NATO did not want to help us in the Strait of Hormuz, even though we do not receive any oil from this strait,” Trump stated.
He continued by asserting, “Everyone has witnessed the superiority of American military equipment in the war with Iran! We cleared all the mines. There are no longer any mines there.”
Trump had previously indicated that passage through the Strait of Hormuz would proceed smoothly, claiming the strait was under U.S. control. He had also criticized European countries for refusing to assist Washington in securing the Hormuz waterway.
The U.S. President also commented on Europe, expressing his aversion to the continent’s situation concerning trade, energy, and immigration, and criticizing European immigration policies.
