Israeli Forces Establish Checkpoints, Advance in Syria’s Quneitra and Damascus Countryside

Israeli military forces have advanced into Syria’s Quneitra province, establishing checkpoints and conducting patrols near villages and towns, according to reports detailing heightened military activity in southern Syria.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli military forces have advanced into Syria‘s Quneitra province, establishing checkpoints and conducting patrols near villages and towns. A patrol comprising 10 Israeli military vehicles entered Syrian territory and set up a checkpoint between the village of Al-Nouriyah and the town of Khan Arnabah in the northern Quneitra countryside.

On Sunday morning, Israeli occupation army forces, alongside military movements and the establishment of checkpoints in the Damascus countryside, advanced towards Tel Ahmar, near the village of Ain Al-Nouriyah in the northern Quneitra countryside, southern Syria.

Syrian Al-Ekhbariya TV reported that the Israeli forces who advanced and were stationed at Tel Ahmar included three tanks, 12 military vehicles, and over 10 armored personnel carriers.

In this regard, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that the incursion of Zionist forces into Quneitra began from a military base recently established by the occupying forces in Al-Hamidiyah village. Simultaneously, an Israeli army drone flew over the area, and a temporary checkpoint was set up in the village, extending through the village of Ofania to Ain Al-Nouriyah.

Syria’s official news agency, SANA, reported that Israeli occupation forces targeted the Harbun hill west of Beit Jinn town in the Damascus countryside with four artillery shells.

Additionally, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that an Israeli military force advanced to the area around the southern entrance of Beit Jinn town, near the Bab Al-Sud area, where they established a military checkpoint and thoroughly inspected farmers and passersby.

These developments occurred amidst escalating tensions and military movements by Israeli occupation forces in southern Syria, specifically in Quneitra and its surrounding Damascus countryside, coinciding with attacks in the Daraa countryside.

Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government in Syria, the Zionist regime has exploited the existing security vacuum in the country. It has bombed all heavy defense facilities and warplanes and has advanced into the Quneitra region in the country’s south. Furthermore, parts of the south, including the strategic heights of Jabal al-Sheikh, have been occupied.
