Russian Official Declares UK a Disintegrated State Amid Separatist Demands
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia’s Special Representative, Kirill Dmitriev, has stated that the United Kingdom is a “disintegrated country.” This assertion follows reports detailing a surge in secessionist demands within Britain.
The prime ministers of Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland are reportedly set to sign a joint statement on Monday calling on London to grant these regions the right to hold referendums on their independence. Following regional elections held last May, parties advocating for independence have gained power in these self-governing territories, intensifying pressure on the UK government to address their demands.
The United Kingdom withdrew from the European Union in 2020. Concurrently, calls for new independence referendums have grown in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
