He further claimed that Russia has also pledged to adhere to a similar stance. Trump’s remarks come as he attempts to address concerns over energy prices, following the recent securitization of the strategic Strait of Hormuz ahead of the midterm congressional elections.

The U.S. President asserted that the increase in global diesel prices is primarily a consequence of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, not Iran.
