Pentagon Report Contradicts Trump, Reveals Massive Costs and Equipment Losses in Iran Conflict
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a new report from the U.S. Department of Defense’s Inspector General, often referred to as the Pentagon, indicates that the cost of the U.S. “war-mongering” against Iran has reached $33.4 billion. Of this total, $22.3 billion was allocated to munitions, $3.7 billion to damages sustained by equipment, and another $7.4 billion for miscellaneous expenses. These figures do not encompass the substantial costs associated with the reconstruction of destroyed facilities.
The report details significant damage to American military assets, including the complete destruction or damage of four F-15E fighter jets, one F-35, one A-10 aircraft, twelve refueling planes, and nine other aircraft. Furthermore, over thirty MQ-9 drones were reportedly downed by June of the previous year. The conflict with Iran has also led to a reduction in military ammunition and disruptions within their supply chains.
This revelation comes in stark contrast to statements by the U.S. Secretary of Defense, who had previously denied reports of dwindling war ammunitions, and President Trump’s assertions that the United States was rapidly producing weapons and faced no such shortages.
For the first time officially, the report confirms that Iran successfully targeted the U.S. Navy’s primary supply hub in Bahrain using drones and ballistic missiles. The conflict also necessitated the relocation of over 20,000 American military personnel and diplomats. This contradicts repeated assurances from U.S. officials that their regional bases had not suffered serious damage and that all Iranian attacks had been intercepted.
The U.S. Department of State incurred damages amounting to $200 million across Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The Pentagon also noted that, contrary to President Trump’s criticisms of European nations, five thousand aerial sorties were conducted from U.S. bases in Europe.
