Russian Duma Elections See 56.57% Voter Turnout, Exceeding Previous Years

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s Central Election Commission announced that the voter turnout for the country’s State Duma elections has exceeded participation rates from the 2021, 2016, 2003, and 1993 elections. The commission stated that the overall turnout for the current elections reached 56.57%. This figure is higher than the 47.88% turnout recorded in the 2016 Duma elections. Previous election turnouts include 51.72% in 2021, 54.81% in 1993, and 55.75% in 2003. The Central Election Commission also noted that voter turnout in Moscow surpassed its 2021 figures, with 51.19% of eligible voters casting ballots by 7:55 PM on Sunday. Earlier reports indicated that by 3:14 PM Moscow time (12:14 PM International Time), 52.62% of eligible voters had participated in the elections for the ninth convocation of the Russian State Duma.
