Russia Urges U.S. to End Embargo Against Cuba

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia has strongly emphasized the necessity of the United States ending its sanctions against Cuba. In a statement issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was announced that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement highlighted that during the meeting, the Russian Foreign Minister underscored Moscow’s support for Cuba’s demands to terminate the U.S. trade embargo. The ministry added that Lavrov affirmed Russia’s commitment to continuing dialogue and strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations.

Furthermore, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Sergey Lavrov called for Cuba’s removal from the U.S. list of “state sponsors of terrorism.” The statement indicated that Russia and Cuba affirmed their commitment to continued cooperation in shaping a multipolar world order.
