Clash Erupts Between Pakistani Forces and Afghan Militants on Border

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, clashes have broken out between the military forces of the interim Afghan government and Pakistani personnel on the border between the two countries in Paktia province. The incident was reported by Afghanistan‘s 8 AM newspaper, citing data published by the Mehr News Agency.

The newspaper stated that the engagement lasted for several hours. According to informed sources, a number of mortar shells hit residential homes during the conflict.

Local witnesses reported that their homes were targeted by Pakistani forces, with mortar shells also being fired into the villages.

This development follows previous statements by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), which emphasized the importance of adhering to international humanitarian law and called for necessary measures to prevent cross-border conflicts.
