Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan Discuss Makkah Agreement and Regional Security

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met at the headquarters of the Saudi Arabian delegation to the United Nations. The discussions centered on activating the Makkah Agreement and completing the process of establishing its general secretariat, committees, and working groups.

The foreign ministers of the three countries also conferred on preparations for the commencement of activities for these bodies. They strongly condemned the attacks launched from Yemen on Saudi Arabian positions.

Furthermore, the ministers affirmed Saudi Arabia’s right to take necessary measures to defend its security, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. The foreign ministers also deliberated on arrangements for an emergency meeting of the chiefs of staff of the armed forces, with the objective of exploring ways to support Saudi Arabia, based on the provisions of the Makkah Agreement.

Under the terms of this agreement, any aggression against one party is considered an attack against all parties to the agreement.
