Dozens Arrested in Anti-Netanyahu Protests in New York

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, American police have arrested dozens of protesters who participated in demonstrations against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. These protests took place simultaneously with Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly.

The demonstrators chanted slogans such as “Fund the people, not bombs” and “Free Palestine,” expressing their objection to the Israeli regime’s war against Gaza and the United States’ support for this policy. Among those arrested were several actors and politicians, including Susan Sarandon, Hanne Ainbinder, Darieliza Avila Chevalier, and Chi Ossé.

Police asked the protesters to leave the area after they disrupted traffic. However, the main group of demonstrators remained at the scene. Subsequently, police forces surrounded the protesters, restraining some with plastic zip ties before transferring them into police vehicles.

Concurrently, inside the UN General Assembly hall, dozens of delegations departed the session as Prime Minister Netanyahu began his speech.
