Iraqi Movement Criticizes Baghdad’s Policies, Questions Gratitude Towards Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hussein Al-Mousawi, the media deputy for the Secretary-General of Iraq‘s Al-Nujaba movement, stated that Iran facilitated the secure passage of Iraqi oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz. He questioned whether recent actions represent a practical response and expression of gratitude towards Iran.

Al-Mousawi further emphasized Iran’s continued provision of gas to Iraqi power plants, highlighting that Iran’s assistance remains extended to Iraq. He also noted that Iran opened its borders for trade with Iraq and made its armories available for the country’s defense.

The Al-Nujaba official asserted that the recent decisions will inflict significant material and moral damage on Iraq across political, economic, and social levels. He characterized this unprecedented capitulation to U.S. demands as a clear indication that Washington dictates Iraq’s decisions.

Previously, Akram Al-Kabi, the Secretary-General of the Al-Nujaba movement, had warned that if the issue of halting Iranian flights to Iraq is not resolved, the country’s airports would witness sit-ins to revoke what he termed an American decision.

Al-Kabi added that the movement rejects the adoption of a double standard concerning Iraq’s sovereignty and American dominance over the country. He expressed regret over the stance of political groups and their submission to the siege of a Muslim nation by criminal elements.
