French Politician Slams Macron’s Decision to Deploy Troops to Saudi Arabia

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French politician Florian Philippot, leader of the right-wing “Patriots” party, has voiced strong criticism against French President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to deploy troops and military equipment to Saudi Arabia. Philippot stated that Paris should refrain from sending its forces to Saudi Arabia.

In a message posted on the social media platform X, Philippot described Macron’s decision as a dangerous step, warning that France, through this action, is exposing itself to the perils stemming from regional conflicts.

President Macron had announced on Thursday that France would deploy “military forces, radar systems, and defensive equipment” to protect energy facilities in the port city of Yanbu, located on the Red Sea coast. He emphasized that this measure is intended to safeguard these facilities and does not signify France’s entry into the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
