Trump Claims Record Oil Transit Through Strait of Hormuz Amid Energy Market Turmoil
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump made claims about an unprecedented volume of oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz, stating it was more than before the war began.
During remarks aimed at impacting the turbulent energy market, Trump asserted that last night saw a record-breaking amount of oil depart the Strait of Hormuz. He contended that this quantity surpassed levels seen prior to the commencement of hostilities.
“We moved an unprecedented amount of oil through the Strait of Hormuz last night, more than was moved before the war started!” Trump stated.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Trump also claimed, “As soon as Iran backs down from its position and the war ends, oil prices will plummet, and this will happen soon!”
He added, “Prices will fall generally, and oil prices are now lower than they were during the administration of former U.S. President Joe Biden.”
These statements come at a time when Trump continues to grapple with self-inflicted challenges stemming from the conflict with Iran. The crisis surrounding the Strait of Hormuz has disrupted shipping traffic and heightened concerns about global oil and gas supplies.
