Russia Accuses Ukraine of Attempting to Disrupt Duma Elections

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Rodion Miroshnik, the Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated during a session of the UN Human Rights Council that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not held a single referendum in his seven and a half years in power, contrary to his electoral promises.

The Russian diplomat further elaborated that Ukrainian officials, under Zelenskyy’s leadership, are not conducting elections not due to military conflict, but rather to maintain their power. He characterized the current leadership in Ukraine as an illegitimate power holder that disregards international law and the rights of Ukrainian citizens to influence their nation’s future.

Miroshnik added that Ukrainian authorities and their supporters were intensely interested in disrupting the Russian Duma elections. He alleged that Ukraine attempted to interfere by intimidating international observers, threatening election commission members, preventing overseas voting, and calling for the non-recognition of election outcomes.
