German Chancellor Claims Russia Will Not Win Ukraine War, Vows Continued Support for Kyiv

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has claimed that Moscow will not emerge victorious from the ongoing war in Ukraine, adding that Berlin’s diplomatic efforts have been met with Russian indifference. Citing recent discussions in New York, Merz stated that assessments indicate Moscow currently has no inclination for serious negotiations.

The German Chancellor affirmed Berlin’s steadfast commitment to standing by Kyiv, declaring, “We will do everything in our power to continue military, political, financial, and economic support for Ukraine. If Russia is not ready to negotiate, we are willing and able to support Ukraine for a long time.” Merz issued a warning to Russia, stating, “Russia will not win this war. We are currently witnessing the precarious state of its economy, and if the current path continues, Moscow will pay a heavy price.”
