Iraqi Resistance Vows Arms Will Remain with Fighters Amidst U.S. Withdrawal
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance has reiterated its stance on maintaining its arms, asserting that these weapons will remain in the possession of its fighters. This declaration was made during a ceremony commemorating the withdrawal of American occupation forces from Iraq.
Jaafar al-Husseini, the spokesperson for the Iraqi Islamic Resistance, stated that the U.S. military had no choice but to face defeat in 2011, marking Iraq’s initial victory. He highlighted the pivotal role of the Iraqi Islamic Resistance fighters in confronting the Takfiri wave that threatened to overthrow Baghdad, the capital city.
Al-Husseini further elaborated that following the issuance of a religious decree, resistance groups were instrumental in ensuring the decree’s success by training a large number of volunteers. He noted that American forces returned to Iraq under the pretext of combating terrorism, but the resistance successfully developed its weaponry to counter a second occupation by the United States.
The spokesperson emphasized that American occupiers targeted the positions of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) during the Gaza conflict and the aggression against Iran. He underscored that the Iraqi resistance is the same force that took up arms against the occupiers and bore the burden, asserting that no timeline or agreement proposed by any governmental or political entity is binding.
Al-Husseini concluded by affirming that the resistance’s arms will continue to be a trust held by their mujahideen.
