Syrians Protest Across Hasakah Province, Demand Security Amid Clashes

Thousands of Syrian citizens in Hasakah province have held widespread demonstrations for the second consecutive Friday, demanding security, as similar protests erupted in Raqqa and the surrounding areas in solidarity.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency and cited by Shafaq News, thousands of Syrian citizens from various parts of Hasakah province participated in widespread demonstrations for the second consecutive Friday, calling for security in the province. The cities of Raqqa and its surroundings also witnessed public demonstrations in support of Hasakah residents. Media outlets reported that shots were fired at a number of Syrian citizens, and their movement towards the city center was prevented. Yesterday, Hasakah city experienced security clashes and tensions concurrently with the raising of the country’s flag in Al-Salam Square. Unidentified armed elements were also reported to have fired shots in the area. Al Mayadeen also reported that a demonstration took place in the Ghweiran neighborhood of Hasakah. Security elements affiliated with the Julani regime were deployed to prevent protesters from moving towards the northern areas of Hasakah. These elements fired tear gas at the protesters after they attempted to advance towards the northern regions.
