Trump Denies Ordering Cuts to Starshield Services for Ukraine, Cites Peace Talks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he has not issued any directive to reduce Starshield satellite communication services to Ukraine. He further stated that he is in dialogue with the leaders of Russia and Ukraine in an effort to bring an end to the war.
Responding to reports indicating limitations on satellite services utilized by the Ukrainian military, President Trump asserted that he did not order any curtailment of these services.
The U.S. President emphasized his desire to conclude the Ukraine war, adding that he is in negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, and believes both sides are keen on ending the conflict.
Previously, Trump had indicated that the United States would continue its cooperation and intelligence sharing with Ukraine while simultaneously maintaining contact with Russia to facilitate an end to the hostilities.
Trump’s remarks come amid reports concerning the restriction of Starshield, SpaceX’s military satellite communication system, for Ukrainian forces.
According to Reuters, three American and Western officials stated that orders to limit these services originated from within the White House, though they did not identify specific individuals responsible for the decision. Conversely, a senior U.S. official stressed that Trump had not made such a request.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reported a gradual restoration of services, but noted that Ukrainian forces have not yet regained full access to previous levels.
Starshield is the military and governmental version of the Starlink satellite system, employed for secure communications and military applications. Reports of limitations on this system have raised concerns regarding its impact on battlefield communications and the drone operations of Ukrainian forces.
