Russia Continues to Supply Up to One-Fifth of Europe’s LNG, Deputy PM Novak States

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has stated that Russia continues to supply between 17 and 20 percent of the European Union’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports. He also indicated that Russia is prepared to increase its LNG exports, with oil companies ready to commence shipments upon finalization of commercial agreements.
Novak previously detailed that the process for supplying LNG to the United States involves contract signing, fuel loading, and maritime transport coordination, a procedure that typically takes approximately two to three weeks. Following a phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, Moscow expressed its readiness to supply LNG to global markets. Russia has outlined plans to supply over 300,000 tons of LNG in October, followed by 500,000 tons in November, and subsequently one million tons.
These remarks come at a time when the European Union is actively pursuing its strategy to reduce dependence on Russian energy sources.
