Macron Affirms France’s Stance: ‘Iran’s War Is Not Our War,’ Prioritizing Peace

French President Emmanuel Macron has reiterated France’s commitment to peace and stability, stating that the conflict involving Iran is not France’s war, as the West Asia region grapples with heightened tensions following an unspecified conflict initiation on February 28.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Wednesday that France has consistently acted as a force for peace and stability. He emphasized France’s position, stating, ‘From the very beginning, we said that Iran’s war is not our war; we are proponents of peace.’

Macron, speaking about his recent working visit to West Asia, highlighted the severe instability in the Persian Gulf region in recent months. This instability, he noted, stemmed from a conflict that commenced on February 28 with an unspecified illegal action against Tehran. The French President detailed that this conflict led to retaliatory actions by Iran, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and overall regional destabilization. He further explained that these developments have impacted the security of individual nations and France’s economy, with consequences directly affecting French citizens for months.

The situation reportedly worsened as summer neared its end, leading to an even more critical security scenario. Macron asserted that France’s primary objective is peace and stability in the region. He pointed to various negotiation channels existing between Iran, the United States, and other countries, aimed at de-escalating tensions and improving the situation, underscoring this as the main goal of diplomacy.
