New York Mayor Reports U.S. Congressional Candidate Detained by Israel During Olive Harvest

New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced that a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Congress, along with other New York residents, was detained by Israel while participating in an olive harvest. Adams demanded the immediate release of all detained residents.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced on Wednesday that Brad Lander, a Democratic candidate in the U.S. Congressional midterm elections, and several other New York residents, including Jewish and Palestinian individuals, were detained by the Israeli regime while participating in an olive harvest. The mayor emphasized that olive harvesting is not illegal, but the occupation itself is.

Adams expressed his relief at the freedom of Brad Lander but stated that other New York residents remain in detention and must be released immediately. He further condemned Israel’s actions, stating that the same regime detaining them has committed a horrific genocide against the Palestinian people, responsible for the deaths of over 74,000 individuals in recent years.

The New York mayor called for an end to the detention of New York residents, the end of the occupation, and the cessation of genocide.
