Lebanon complained to the Security Council against Israel

The increasing aggression of the Zionist occupation regime against civilians in southern Lebanon, Lebanon’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, by order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country, submitted a complaint to the UN Security Council against Israel.
In this complaint, the recent drone attack by the Zionist regime on a civilian car is mentioned, which led to the martyrdom of the driver of this car and the injury of three students in a school service on Shokin-Kafr Dajal road, located in the southwest of Nabatieh city.
Lebanon’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations emphasized in its complaint: Since international humanitarian law protects civilians and civilian facilities based on Article 27 of the Convention Fourth Geneva guarantees, therefore, Israel’s deliberate attack on a civilian vehicle and a school bus carrying young students is a clear violation of international humanitarian law and is a war crime.
In the continuation of this complaint, it is stated: Protection of children in times of war is considered a principle of international humanitarian law, and according to Article 16 of the Geneva Convention, all countries are obliged to respect this principle and protect children, and under no circumstances should children be be targeted by aggressive movements in the war.
Lebanon’s delegation to the United Nations stated: Considering the extreme vulnerability of children, the United Nations General Assembly in 1974 declared issued the Protection of Women and Children in Emergencies and Armed Conflicts, which includes a ban on attacks on civilians.
According to the complaint, Lebanon asks the Security Council that Israel force it to respect international humanitarian law and children’s rights and refrain from targeting civilians. Also, the Security Council must condemn the direct, deliberate and repeated targeting of civilians by Israel and try to ensure that this regime does not escape punishment for these war crimes.
Lebanon’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations emphasized in the end: the failure of the members of the Security Council to condemn these Israeli crimes leaves the hand of this regime free to continue deliberate attacks against civilians without any obstacles.
