Trump is officially the candidate of the Republican Party
The Republican National Convention approved Trump as the party's nominee.
Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, became the official candidate of the Republican Party in the 2024 election on Monday at the Republican National Convention (RNC).
The endorsement became official after Trump won enough delegate votes as the party’s state branches handed them out one after the other.
This news came shortly after Trump named Ohio Senator J.D. Vance as his running mate.
