According to the international group Tasnim news agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with his American counterpart Anthony Blinken. He met and talked in Washington himself.
Blinken wrote on his virtual page about this: with Fidan about the war between Israel and Hamas, trying not to spread this war in the region, the need to release the hostages and also provide assistance. We talked about humanitarian issues.
He emphasized the importance of Sweden joining NATO as soon as possible. We transferred to the American side. We said that the situation in Gaza is serious and intolerable and steps must be taken.
The Turkish Foreign Minister continued: Our position is clear regarding Sweden and NATO. At the NATO meeting, decisions were made with the heads of Turkey and Sweden, which we are working on. After this, the decision is with the Turkish parliament.
