The complete closure of the borders of Iraq and Syria
reported by Mehr News Agency, the Iraqi news network announced that the country’s borders with Syria have been completely closed by the order of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani.
Qais al-Mohammadavi, the deputy commander of Iraq’s joint operation headquarters, announced that the borders of Iraq and Syria are completely closed and we fully adhere to the orders of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to defend and protect Iraq.

Qassem al-Araji, Iraq’s national security advisor, also said in response to the developments in Syria: We hope the Syrian government can take control of all areas of this country.
Al-Araji emphasized: Iraqi security forces are alert and vigilant and will pursue with full readiness anyone who threatens the security of Iraq and its people.
