Russian President Signs Law on Thorough Strategic Treaty Between Moscow and Tehran
According to the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and trend, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty between Moscow and Tehran today (Monday).
Trend reports that with the signing of this law, a comprehensive legal framework for long-term cooperation between Russia and Iran has been formally established.Earlier, the Federation Council of Russia—informally referred to as the Senate—approved and enacted the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty with the islamic Republic of Iran.
Under this treaty, both sides will deepen and expand relations in all fields, strengthen security and defence cooperation, and closely collaborate in regional and global activities.
The agreement covers more than 30 key areas across various sectors including economy, transportation corridors & transit routes, monetary & banking affairs, investment, science & technology, oil & gas. Essentially a long-term contract based on UN Charter principles while respecting bilateral rights & obligations balance as well as territorial integrity—it consists of a preamble plus 47 articles drafted by Iran before being finalized earlier this summer.
