Ulyanov: U.S. Position on Iran Lacks Clarity; Patience Wearing Thin
Russia’s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna Says U.S. Position on iran Is Unclear
Russia’s permanent Representative to international organizations based in Vienna, Austria, Mikhail Ulyanov, emphasized the lack of clarity in the U.S. position on Iran and stated that it would be better to wait until this stance becomes clearer.
In a post on his social media account, Ulyanov wrote: “Iran’s position is clear. Sadly, we cannot use a similar definition for the U.S. position. Let’s wait—but we cannot wait indefinitely.”
On Monday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed that Tehran is ready to reach a nuclear agreement with the U.S. from an equal standpoint and if its national interests are respected.
Two days after the second round of indirect talks, former U.S. President Donald trump said: “We had good meetings about Iran.”
Previously announced technical-level negotiations between the two countries were scheduled for Wednesday in Muscat but were postponed at Oman’s suggestion and with mutual agreement between Iranian and American delegations. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Baqaei stated that the technical consultations will now take place next Saturday alongside meetings between heads of both delegations.
