U.S. Treasury Department Imposes New Sanctions on Yemen’s Ansarullah
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al jazeera, the U.S. Treasury Department has imposed new sanctions on Yemen’s Ansarullah.
On Monday, May 8, the U.S. Treasury sanctioned three vessels and their owners for allegedly transporting oil and gas products to Ansarullah.
The new U.S. sanctions target two shipping companies registered in the Marshall Islands and one company registered in Mauritius.
The U.S. Treasury claims the sanctioned ships were used to deliver oil and gas products to Ras Issa port.Michael Falkender, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Treasury, stated: “Today, we reaffirmed our commitment to disrupting Ansarullah’s efforts to finance their dangerous and destabilizing attacks in the region.”
