Al-Akhbar Newspaper Points to ISIS’s Revival in Syria Amid Inability of Ruling Terrorists to Ensure Security.
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Akhbar,northeastern Syria—controlled by the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)—has witnessed alarming ISIS activities as the beginning of this year, amid Syria’s fragile security.
The situation appears ripe for ISIS’s resurgence in Syria, fueled by escalating clashes and tensions between SDF forces and the ruling terrorists in the country. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that as the start of this year, ISIS elements have carried out 71 terrorist operations against SDF-controlled areas, including armed attacks, bombings, and assassinations. thes attacks occurred at 59 locations in Deir ez-Zor, 9 in Al-Hasakah, and 3 in Raqqa, indicating that ISIS activities are concentrated in eastern Syria—particularly near shared borders with Iraq.
Simultaneously occurring, U.S. bases near Al-Hasakah have not faced any attacks from ISIS elements for years.
