Iranian Media delegation Visits Iraq’s Media Organizations to Strengthen Cooperation
According to a report by teh English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, an Iranian media delegation visited Iraq as part of a multi-day trip aimed at expanding media cooperation and exploring the country’s communication capacities. The delegation toured Iraq’s Media and Communications Association and the Al-Furat Media Network.
During a meeting with Noufal Hilal Abu Ragheef, head of Iraq’s Media and Communications Organization, both sides emphasized the need to enhance media collaboration between Iran and Iraq.
Abu ragheef praised the successful media experience of the Islamic Republic of Iran, describing media as one of the most effective tools for strengthening cultural and ancient ties between the peoples of Iran and Iraq.
He also noted Iraqi audiences’ warm reception to Iranian productions, such as Mukhtar.Letter of Prophet Yusuf (AS) and the Film Muhammad: The Messenger of God (PBUH), expressing hope that the broadcast of the series on Prophet Musa (AS) would also be impactful.
The Iraqi official also identified religious tourism, cultural tourism, and joint cinematic and television productions as three essential pillars of media synergy between Iran and Iraq.
Abu Ragheef, referencing Iran’s role in supporting the Palestinian people, called for the continuation of this approach in Iraqi media. He emphasized that joint media efforts during Arba’een are a clear symbol of this strategic cooperation.
In another part of his remarks, he stated: “We consistently follow developments related to Iran, including indirect negotiations with the U.S., through iranian media sources, and consider these talks significant for iraq.”
Later in the visit, the Iranian delegation also toured Al-Furat Media Institute.
Muhammad Al-Sheikh Al-Zayni, director of the institute, introduced various media divisions, including television networks, radio stations…Al-Ragzari emphasized that the Al-Furat institute utilizes modern technologies such as artificial intelligence for monitoring,analyzing,and producing news content.
Al-Zini, referencing the network’s operational history since 2004, reported its active offices in tehran and Qom, stating: “Our priority is producing religious and political content for shia audiences in Iraq.”
He also reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to strengthening the discourse of resistance and continuing this path despite recent developments.
These meetings aimed to assess Iraq’s media capacities and explore joint collaboration strategies between Iranian and Iraqi media outlets. Observers suggest they could pave the way for a new phase of regional media cooperation.
