Yair Lapid Calls Direct Talks Between Hamas and U.S.Government a Failure for Netanyahu’s Cabinet
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the U.S. and Hamas reached an agreement to release an Israeli-American prisoner after negotiations that the Zionists were unaware of. This has angered officials in Tel aviv.
Yair Lapid, leader of the opposition to Netanyahu’s cabinet, stated: “The news of direct talks between Hamas and Washington represents a major political failure for Netanyahu’s cabinet.”
He emphasized: ”The release of Aidan Alexander should mark the beginning of a complete agreement that brings back all kidnapped soldiers.”
Yair Golan, leader of the Zionist Democratic Party, also commented: ”Alexander’s release in a deal that bypasses Netanyahu dispels the nightmare for prisoners’ families.”
He added: ”Netanyahu has effectively abandoned his own citizens, leaving them in the hands of foreign powers—thus, all prisoners must be returned immediately.”
