Al-Azhar Grand Sheikh condemns ongoing Zionist regime crimes in Gaza
According to webangah News Agency, citing Al-Maseera, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb of Al-Azhar harshly criticized the obstruction of humanitarian aid to besieged civilians, stating that the ongoing blockade has created a catastrophic situation directly threatening lives.
he described Israel’s continued siege of Gaza as a blatant violation of international law and human rights, calling it an outright crime that must be immediately halted.
Al-Tayeb emphasized that these actions contradict humanitarian values promoted by all divine religions. He urged the global community to translate appeals for lifting Gaza’s blockade into concrete action while fulfilling ethical obligations.
In a statement, Al-Azhar stressed the necessity of reopening all crossings to facilitate medical and food aid delivery. It expressed hope that recent steps by the European Union and other nations might begin ending both the blockade and civilian suffering in Gaza.
Al-Azhar also condemned Israel’s attack on a 25-member European-Arab diplomatic delegation visiting Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank during their fact-finding mission about camp conditions.
