432 Dutch lawyers condemn silence over Gaza genocide
According to webangah News Agency, 432 Dutch lawyers have strongly condemned the silence of their professional body, the netherlands Bar Association, regarding what they describe as the “Zionist regime’s genocide in Gaza” through an open letter.
The letter addressed to the association’s president states: “It is regrettable that the bar Association, which has previously taken positions against violations of the rule of law in various countries, now remains silent about the genocide in Gaza.”
The signatories noted that the association had expressed concerns about the rule of law situation in the United States on April 16, 2025, and condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on March 2, 2022.while praising these stances, they emphasized: “But your current silence regarding crimes committed by Israel makes this silence even more painful.”
Citing statistics, protesting lawyers stated at least 50,000 people have been killed during Israel’s attacks over 19 months – including more than 15,000 children. The letter adds: “No humanitarian aid has reached Gaza since March 2nd and hundreds face starvation due to purposeful blockade.”
