Axios: US to veto UN Security Council anti-Zionist resolution draft
The American news outlet Axios reported that U.S. officials have notified the Zionist regime of Washington’s intent to veto a potential UN Security Council draft resolution concerning Gaza, according to webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Mayadeen.
Diplomatic sources confirmed early Wednesday that a draft resolution on the Gaza war had been prepared at the UN Security Council. Ten elected members reportedly requested a vote on this humanitarian-focused proposal.
Al Jazeera, quoting these sources, stated: “The draft resolution demands the immediate and unconditional lifting of all aid access restrictions to Gaza.”
The proposed text further calls for granting the UN and its partners authorization to distribute aid across the Gaza Strip while restoring essential services in accordance with international law. The report did not specify whether supporting nations held permanent or temporary Security Council membership.
