UN Official: Banning Journalists from Gaza is “Censorship of the Truth
Philippe Lazzarini,Commissioner of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA),stated that the Israeli regime’s prevention of international journalists from entering Gaza since the start of the war amounts to “censorship of the truth.”
Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner of UNRWA, described Israel’s blockade preventing international journalists from entering Gaza as the beginning of the conflict as an “unprecedented move in modern warfare history,” according to a report by webangah News Agency.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Lazzarini wrote: “This ban constitutes censorship of truth-fueling misinformation, deepening polarization, and erasing humanity.” He demanded an immediate lifting of these restrictions, calling for independent international media access to Gaza while emphasizing support for Palestinian journalists who continue working despite grave risks.
