Lapid Issues Sharp Criticism of Netanyahu

The head⁣ of the Israeli opposition sharply criticized the prime minister, calling him an‍ obstacle to achieving a ceasefire agreement‍ in Gaza.

According to the English ⁣section‌ of webangah News agency, citing Al-Nashra via Mehr News agency, Yair Lapid, leader of the ⁤Israeli opposition, accused Benjamin Netanyahu of obstructing efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement.

Lapid emphasized that Netanyahu views Israel’s presence‍ at⁤ the “Morag” axis ⁤(between Khan Yunis and Rafah) as essential to Israel’s survival, despite it being a tactical operational⁣ move.

He added he ⁣hopes Netanyahu’s meeting with US⁣ President Donald Trump will lead to a prisoner exchange deal, noting Washington places⁢ high importance on this issue and that continued war currently holds no benefit for Israel.

The opposition leader further stated that unless someone is found to ​administer the Gaza⁣ Strip,Israel will not be able to ⁢free itself from ⁢Hamas.He called‌ for withdrawing from⁣ Gaza and establishing a buffer zone to ensure security in areas adjacent to Gaza.
