Zelensky: Arms Shipments Have Resumed
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about support from the US and Western countries, announcing that weapons shipments to Ukraine have resumed.
Zelensky added, “We are receiving positive signals at the highest levels from the United States and our European friends. Weapons deliveries have resumed.”
The president emphasized, “We are currently cooperating with partners to obtain more weapons, increase arms production, and strengthen support for our military.”
Yesterday, during a press conference in Rome and in a video posted on his YouTube channel, Zelensky said: “We have had positive talks with US President Donald Trump regarding Patriot missile systems. My request is for about 10 Patriot systems along with sufficient missiles for them. Germany is ready to cover costs. I have agreed with them on purchasing two systems. Norway is also ready to pay; I have reached a bilateral agreement with Norway’s Prime Minister. Norway will purchase one Patriot system to provide it to Ukraine.”
Zelensky added that he is now awaiting responses from the United States and Patriot manufacturers on when these systems can be delivered.
The Ukrainian president further stated that Germany has agreed to buy two Patriot systems from the US for Kyiv.
In this context, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said Thursday afternoon during a conference focused on Ukraine in Rome: “We are prepared to purchase additional Patriot missile systems from the United States to supply them to Ukraine.”
